Tender is the ride
Yacht tenders used to be a bit of an after-though, seen as a functional accessory to the main event, the yacht. That’s changed a lot. Tenders are now seen as luxury units in their own right, an independent piece of kit that can operate in tandem with its larger cousin. And so tenders are now the recipients of careful design, catering to those that like beauty all around. Enter the Mazu 38.
Debuting at the Monaco Yacht Show 2016 last month, the Mazu 38 from Turkey’s Mazu Yachts is a sleek and weighty superyacht tender that has plenty of gravitas visually. While the Mazu 38 can be fully customised on the inside and outside, Mazu Yachts believes most customers will opt for its layout with an al-fresco dining area in the aft deck, sleeping quarters with an ensuite bathroom and standing shower, as well as crew cabins. Outfitted with Gaggenau appliances, the default unit comes with a cooker, grill, microwave, oven, sink, fridge, deep freezer (to store freshly caught fish for later) and storage compartments. An aft-deck shower and swim platform with retractable swim ladder is for those that want to frolic in the water, while a bimini will provide shade when the sun gets too overpowering.
The Mazu 38 comes with three engine options – the 400/500/600 variants of the Volvo Penta IPS engine, with a top speed of 45 knots and a cruising speed of 30 knots.
