Christmas in the clouds
At the 18th floor of Maxims in Resorts World Genting, is the loft-like restaurant called E18hteen. Swathed in the clouds, it’s the perfect place to celebrate the year end festivities. And the chefs at E18hteen have obliged, creating a lavish spread of delicious dishes that are sure to tickle any tastebuds and leave every diner stuffed.
Ensconced in a little corner surrounded by elaborate Christmas decorations, the space may be small but the menu packs a punch. For starters, there is a full salad bar with condiments and dressings, with crisp shrimps with mango in a classic prawn cocktail and juicy fresh oysters. Then there is a vast array of mains, which includes (deep breath) three types of sausages, corn-on-the-cob, grilled beef ribeye tip, seabass teriyaki, marinated lamb cutlet, grilled prawns with spiced butter, baked potatoes, grilled vegetables in olive oil, spring chicken and marinated BBQ pork ribs. Taking pride of place on Christmas will be a roast turkey with cranberry sauce, while for New Year’s Eve, this is replaced with ribs with shallot gravy. All that food may leave you stuffed, but save space for dessert, which consists of fresh berries, ice cream, three-coloured chocolate mousse, coconut crème brûlée, fruit jellies and scrumptious festive cookies.
The festive menu at E18hteen is scheduled for 24 December (Christmas) and 31 December (New Year’s Eve) 2016. The restaurant is open from 6-10 pm, and the menu is priced at RM150 per person, including coffee and tea.
