Angel of the moving
Electric bikes may well be the new fixies, the choice of the urban stylish and the stylishly urban. Which explains why newer models look less like clunky, boxy machines and more like trim, sleek creatures. With the Angel Edition Electric Bike, Slovenian outfit Noordung has not only delivered a supermodel, but a smart one as well.
With an ultralight electric motor that can deliver you 30km in a single charge, the Angel has a capacity that rivals other models in the market. The battery, in particular, is a wonder. Equipped with two USB ports to charge your devices while you ride, it can also be removed from the frame to double as a portable boombox, streaming up to a hundred hours of music from your music devices. You know, for those moments where you want to throw an impromptu party at the beach or soundtrack your urban picnic. Amazingly, it can also analyse the air quality of your chosen bike route, recommending cleaner paths if necessary.
Its features like that which makes us want to add a prefixed ‘i’ to the Angel Edition, being smarter than it ought to be. Only 15 units will be made (handcrafted) in an initial prototype run for €9,760 (RM46,402). Future production runs are possible, but Noordung has no plans to make the Angel mass. Meaning that your Angel Edition will be unique and never ubiquitious.
