green with envy
Montblanc’s idea of watches with character is brought to its zenith through the 2018 iterations of the maison’s mountaineering-inspired 1858 collection. The spirit and savoir-faire of the historical Minerva, now fused with Montblanc through its 2006 acquisition, is alive and well with the Montblanc 1858 Monopusher Chronograph Limited Edition (€28,000/RM135,550) which recalls the design-protected v-shaped chronograph bridge, engraved with the twin provenance of Minerva and Villeret. This bridge and the movement construct is based off the historical 1920 opus – Minerva’s first instance of a fully integrated chronograph movement in a wristwatch. A 40mm stainless steel case and smoked dial with beige luminescent numerals is augmented by alligator straps from Montblanc’s Pelletteria in Florence.
