The Jaeger-LeCoultre Geophysic Tourbillon Universal Time juggles 24 time zones simultaneously and also takes daylight saving into account but more importantly it is a crucible of fine watchmaking’s most cherished and exalted crafts.
An orbital flying tourbillon traverses the dial, completing one full rotation every 24 hours. Its own carriage fitted with Jaeger-LeCoultre’s revolutionary non-circular Gyrolab balance wheel turns on its axis once every minute.
Together they perform a constant pirouette synchronised with the orbital path of the planet. The dial is a masterpiece of hand-finishing and traditional decorative arts. It offers a perspective of the Earth as seen from above the North Pole, where the oceans are made by a two-step process of guillochage and lacquer painting, while the continents are satin-brushed.
