Nearly ten years since debut, the Singapore boutique of A Lange & Sohne in Ion Orchard has unveiled its refreshed aesthetic. It is an orderly one, utilitarian in its simple contrasts of greys and browns—but, like the timepieces the German watchmaker is famous for, it is a classic, evergreen look with personality found in the details. Towards the rear is an educational section, filled with books and posters that elaborate on the finer points of watchmaking and the story of the House of Lange—two crucial elements to the appreciation of a Lange watch.

The occasion was marked also by the release of the Lange 1 Tourbillon “25th Anniversary” (€165,000 or about RM761,950), which concludes the 10-watch 25th anniversary collection that was released over the course of this year. Like the rest of the collection, the new Lange 1 Tourbillon is cased in white gold and has a silver dial beautifully contrasted by blued hands and markers; turning it over will reveal a bridge exquisitely engraved with a blue ’25’ in the hallmark style of Lange’s outsize date. The collection as a whole is a testament to the timelessness and flexibility of the original Lange 1 design that was released in 1994 and put Lange back on the high horology map.
