Occupying the centre concourse of Pavilion Kuala Lumpur for one week, the exhibition was an extensive overview of Franck Muller’s watchmaking capabilities. Robb Report Malaysia together with Sincere Fine Watches hosted guests to an evening of horology.
A complete line-up was on display, including current collections such as dressier Cintree Curvex and the sportier Vanguard—but the tourbillons were particularly eye-catching. Some of the more unusual and compelling examples were also some of Franck Muller’s most ambitious. These included the Revolution 2, released in 2003 as one of the earliest multi-axis tourbillon wristwatches. Similarly, the Giga Tourbillon and its 20mm was first seen in 2011 as the largest-ever tourbillon, and the Thunderbolt Tourbillon remains one of the fastest in the world with a five-second revolution. Some of these pieces were specially flown in from Switzerland, making this exhibition quite the treat for local horology enthusiasts—it is rare for Malaysia to truly see a watchmaker in full flight, let alone one also known as the Master of Complications.
