For a cognac as esteemed as Louis XIII, it is nice to have a bit of guidance in maximising the experience, as well as something to add a sense of occasion. That is perhaps why, the house itself has proposed The Gift Collection, a set comprising a coffret, or small box, of several compartments and clad in the striking signature red of Louis XIII.
The main compartment holds a decanter of Louis XIII itself: the pinnacle spirit from the house of Remy Martin consisting of up to 1,200 eaux-de-vie sourced only from the Grand Champagne cru, the most prized of cognac regions that, despite its layered complexity, sparkles always with elegance and lightness.
Of the other compartments, one holds a pair of Louis XIII crystal glasses. These were designed by the renowned Christophe Pillet and are a fantastically luxurious in their own right – and they most assuredly resonate musically when clinked together. These can be inscribed with a message, if so desired.
The final drawer contains a curation of accessories that are suggestions on how best to enjoy Louis XIII. Among them is a choice of either The Cigar Set, which includes lighter from ST Dupont and a chrome-plated cigar cutter; or The Caviar Set, which consists of a silver-plated serving set from Christofle and five mother-of-pearl caviar spoons.
