The recent Omega Garden pop up at The Gardens Mall in Kuala Lumpur was all about women. Decorated to the theme of foliage-strewn gold, the exhibition drew attention to the brand’s global, female-centric campaign, as well as to 20 inspiring Malaysian women who embody the watchmaker’s sense of ambition and stylishness. A mini-game with vending machine rewards – which dispensed treats such as ‘Dark Side of the Moon’ chocolate – added a playful touch to the festivity. The watches on display were the stalwarts of Omega’s ladies’ watch collections, including the Constellation Ladies, Seamaster Aqua Terra, and the new Mini Tresor collection that pays tribute to the Omega De Ville Tresor.
The Omega De Ville Tresor is an old name for the brand, which first appeared in 1949 and underwent a modern revival in 2017. The contemporary collection is simple, classical and noted for the two curves of diamonds that run on the bezel diagonally opposite each other. Elegant and feminine, the collection now has an even daintier option in the Mini Tresor. Measuring 26mm in diameter, it arrives in a variety of options. There are a trio of executions with patterned fabric straps – with motifs such as flowers or butterflies – and can be found as either a Moonshine gold case (RM34,050) or a steel case with a double tour band (RM17,950).
Those looking for something more luxe will gravitate to the two braceleted executions of the Mini Tresor in Moonshine Gold, Omega’s lustrous yellow gold alloy. Both have gold bracelets consisting of extremely fine, supple links that look and feel like metallic silk. The classicists will appreciate the version with white grand feu enamel dial (RM92,900), while the bold may instead opt for the textured, gold dial (RM95,700). Both have the Omega De Ville Tresor’s signature diamond curves on the bezel, as well as a red ceramic flower on the crown. All executions are equipped with quartz movements and are just 7.5mm thick.
