The fictional place in James Hilton’s novel, which has become synonymous with an earthly paradise, also inspired the name of the luxury hotel chain that promises an unforgettable stay. A whimsical brand film by Grammy award-winning director Dave Meyers brings to life fanciful characters that represent the different guest personas and chronicles how they find their happiness at the hotel properties. These characters include Penguins and a Wedding Dress crafted by acclaimed Chinese couturier Guo Pei. An exclusive menu has also been curated for the campaign, which is inspired by Chinese and regional Asian cuisines and unique to each hotel. The menus and a collection of special drinks are available at selected Shangri-La hotels in France, China, Thailand, the Philippines, the United Kingdom, and Singapore from now until 13 August.

The Midleton Very Rare Silent Distillery Chapter Four Continues The Lost Distillery’s Line Of Rare, Aged Releases

Midleton Very Rare Silent Distillery Chapter Four (£50,000) is the fourth in a series of highly exclusive Irish Whiskey releases that pay tribute to the old Midleton Distillery, which was open between 1825 and 1975. Aged for 48 years, Chapter Four lives up to the collection’s reputation as the oldest Irish whiskey collection ever produced. It was selected out of the few casks remaining of the renowned, once-bustling distillery’s stock, and consists of a blended Irish whiskey resulting from the delicate marriage of pot and grain whiskeys. Bottled at a cask strength 53.9 per cent ABV, only 119 bottles are available worldwide. It arrives in a crystal decanter from the House of Waterford, housed in a striking lacewood box.
