Dior By Birkenstock Returns With Its Summer-Ready Footwear
While the maison’s partnership with the German shoe manufacturer’s collaboration may have rocked the sartorial boat last year, it also quickly sold out when it landed. The instant classic makes a highly anticipated return for the Dior Men Fall 2023 collection. The result of a unique creative dialogue, Birkenstock’s anatomically shaped orthopaedic cork footbed is lined with smooth leather, while the outsole combines the Dior Oblique pattern with the German brand’s signature Bones graphic. Priced at US$1,100 per pair, the Milano and Tokio the heritage styles of sandals are reimagined in yellow, khaki and gray green.

From now until 8 October 2023, the Melbourne Winter Masterpieces® exhibition at the National Gallery of Victoria (NGV) will feature more than 100 works by Pierre Bonnard, a leading 20th-century French painter. To create the exhibition’s contemporary scenography, the NGV has commissioned the celebrated Paris-based architect and designer India Mahdavi. Described by The New Yorker as a ‘virtuoso of colour’ and winner of Designer of the Year at the 2023 Wallpaper* Design Awards, Mahdavi will envelop Pierre Bonnard’s works in an environment that complements Bonnard’s distinct use of colour and texture and evokes the wistful domestic intimacy for which his paintings are renowned.
