The New York label—founded by Teddy Santis—has been widely known for its edgy designs, representing new-wave luxury fashion. It has gained its reputation by carefully joining forces with luxury labels and high fashion houses that align strongly with its clothing and footwear range. For its latest collaboration, Aimé Leon Dore is walking hand-in-hand with Rimowa, focusing on two stylish luggage pieces for all travellers.
Rimowa, on the other hand, has outstanding recognition for its history of partnering with brands such as Tiffany & Co., Adidas, Palace, Supreme and Off-White, creating bags with vintage woods, aluminium and high-tech polycarbonate finishes. The brand builds its products using hardwearing wood, simultaneously emphasising lightweight construction and high-calibre stability. The distinctive, signature grooves on the aluminium suitcases are inspired by the world’s first all-metal aircraft. So, the German suitcase maker’s latest alliance with Aimé Leon Dore is no surprise to fans.
This season, Rimowa shapes up its classic suitcases with Aimé Leon Dore’s minimalist but timeless essence, birthing a new luggage collection in classic emerald green—the fashion brand’s signature green hue. The pieces are completed with gold hardware that Rimowa reveals is inspired by the Cabin Truck from 1964. Designed with the sophisticated gentleman in mind, the handles and straps are finished with brown cognac leather and co-branded logo badges with gold embossing. Plus, the interior is polished with a bespoke resilient nylon lining in Greek stamp iconography, one of Aimé Leon Dore’s signature artworks.
The collection carries two styles: the Classic Cabin (RM12,300) and the Classic Chest (RM17,900). The 36-litre Classic Cabin is designed with a height-adjustable Flex Divider, a Multiwheel System, and a stage-free telescopic handle. With a measurement of 55cm by 40cm, the Classic Cabin is created for a more practical vacation. The Classic Chest, measuring 74.5cm by 34.5cm, is crafted as a showpiece—that reminds us of vintage train-travelling trunks in the ’20s—for those who prefer to travel in style.
