Being riddled with regret is never healthy. It hinders growth and harms well-being. However, in the case of the Bentley Bentayga Umbra, this is a car you will regret not taking home—especially as there is one right there in Bentley’s showroom in downtown Kuala Lumpur. Let us explain.
The Bentayga Umbra is a limited edition of the Bentayga S by Mulliner, Bentley’s bespoke coachbuilding division (other limited-edition highlights by Mulliner include the Bentley Batur, Bacalar, and Speed Six). There are less than 10 units of the Bentayga Umbra worldwide; only six in Asia Pacific; and only one in Southeast Asia—and that’s right here in our backyard. It’s priced at RM3,677,500 (not including insurance, road tax, and registration), but its value to collectors, petrolheads, and Bentley enthusiasts will far exceed that.

The Bentayga Umbra has a four-litre biturbo V8 engine, which delivers 542bhp and 770Nm to all four wheels via an eight-speed automatic transmission. Considering the SUV’s size, its 0-100km/h time of 4.5 seconds is mighty impressive. The Bentley’s hallmark exterior lends the Bentayga Umbra a daunting presence, made all the more striking thanks to the Beluga-painted front bumper. It also has a Cyber Yellow accent pinstripe running along the carbon fibre bodykit and rear wing to really drive home the ‘superhero’s day car’ vibes.
Its interior sees a Porpoise main hide paired with a Beluga secondary hide, as well as a fade perforation pattern on the headrest and other quilted areas. The High Gloss Carbon Fibre Veneer also oozes sophistication, while the same Cyber Yellow accents from the exterior are also on the seats’ emblems, overmat micropiping, and plenty more besides inside. Satin black and silver grilles are on the Bang & Olufsen speakers, if you’re feeling a bit more groovy instead of listening to the growl of the engine.
