Today, the brand is inviting whisky collectors into its contemporary universe with the release of its latest Fashion Collection—the Royal Salute 21-Year-Old Harris Reed Edition. In partnership with the British-American fashion designer Harris Reed, this new edition illustrates the art of fine whisky craftsmanship paired with Reed’s avant-garde fashion approach.
Imperial Inspirations
Reed’s keen sense of individuality resonates deeply with the distinctive identity of Royal Salute, a synergy spotlighted through this partnership. The genesis of the project began with a private blending session with master blender Sandy Hyslop at the historic Strathisla Distillery in Speyside, Scotland, where the duo crafted the new blend. To complement the whisky’s character, Reed drew inspiration from his signature headpieces and Royal Salute’s rich heritage, designing a stylised rendition of a royal crown. Each theatrical flagon is adorned with a dramatic halo of feathers, available in three colourways—Blue, Fuchsia, and Gold.
Beneath its visually striking exterior, the new Scotch whisky embodies all the signature qualities of Royal Salute, enriched with layers of contrasting notes. Through meticulous testing and a joint creative effort between Hyslop and Reed, the blend integrates the finest whiskies from the brand’s coveted inventory, ensuring that every element is perfectly reflected in this precious liquid. The complexity of Sherry-matured Braeval whisky—chosen for its connection to Reed’s childhood memories—is fused with Glenburgie single maltin American oak barrels to deepen the sweet profiles. Meanwhile, the inclusion of a grain whisky, finished in charred virgin oak barrels, delivers a creamy texture with a depth of vanilla.

Coinciding with this partnership, Reed has also created an exclusive fashion collection featuring three different looks paired with custom headpieces—each inspired by the flagon designs. “I always strive to focus my creativity on magnifying what’s on the inside. The Malaysian launch recently made its grand debut at Skillet KL, where a specially curated menu was prepared to complement the rich and complex flavours of Royal Salute’s whiskies. The evening’s pairings highlighted exquisite dishes such as abalone, lobster, dry-aged Cherry Valley duck, and Australian Wagyu striploin, with each dish thoughtfully matched to enhance the whisky’s tasting notes. The deep, nutty richness of hazelnut praline and sweet toasted oak found in the whisky’s nose harmonised beautifully with the succulent textures of the seafood, while the warm spices of cinnamon and clove in the palate accentuated the depth of the duck and Wagyu. The result was an immersive dining experience that brought out the whisky’s rich, spicy, and lingering finish.
The Royal Salute 21-Year-Old Harris Reed Edition in Blue is exclusive to travel retail and available at Kuala Lumpur International Airport for RM1,335. The Fuchsia and Gold editions are currently available at select retail outlets with prices from RM1,343 in West Malaysia and RM1,369 in East Malaysia. The products are also available on Shopee.
