I Was Burnt Out And Exhausted Until I Tried This Full-Body Reset At Aura Regenerative Wellness Clinic Inside The Exchange 106

The new language of wellness starts here.

True healing is an active pursuit—a conscious, continual choice to grow with mindful devotion to yourself, your future, and the life you deserve. Living in Kuala Lumpur offers its fair share of perks, but, like any bustling city, the constant rush places a considerable strain on our mental and physical vitality. I, too, often find myself swept up in the frantic pace of being a young, ambitious individual, striving to find my place in the grander scheme of things. What I didn’t realise was that beneath the rhythm of my daily life, a quiet exhaustion had slowly crept in—subtle at first, then impossible to ignore. After months of lingering fatigue, I knew I needed real, lasting change that would restore my sleep cycle, physical self, and peace of mind.

Although spending time in wellness spaces is a customary part of my life, the real test has always been maintaining the discipline and proactive effort it requires. According to Dr Siew Tuck Wah, consistency remains one of the biggest challenges when it comes to long-term wellness. “People are often enthusiastic at the start of their wellness journey, but they struggle to stay motivated to continue treatments regularly. We now live in a world filled with stress and misinformation, so it’s easier to seek quick fixes rather than sustainable solutions,” says the founder and medical director of Aura Regenerative Wellness Clinic.

For Dr Siew, the concept of true beauty reflects one’s inner health. This belief led him to create his latest venture, Aura—an integrative and anti-ageing facility where people can achieve mind-body wellness, longevity, and aesthetic harmony, all in one convenient location. “Although many wellness centres and anti-ageing clinics operate as separate entities, I believe effective care can only come from treating the patient as a whole. This way, we address every aspect of health and well-being for optimal results,” he explains.

Located at The Exchange 106, Aura Regenerative Wellness Clinic offers a relaxing escape to all urbanites.

The story behind Aura Regenerative Wellness Clinic

Having spent 15 years in the holistic health and regenerative medicine space, the Singapore-based doctor is now advocating a shift in focus from simply extending lifespan to optimising health span. “It’s not about being the first—it’s about inspiring others to join the shift from reactive to proactive healthcare,” he says. “We shouldn’t wait until diseases have already taken their toll. Instead, we should learn how to take better care of ourselves while we are still healthy, ensuring we live better at every stage of our lives.”

While Aura stands on a health-driven foundation, it is Dr Siew’s deeply personal mission that propelled its creation: “One of the biggest inspirations behind Aura is my 70-year-old mother. Her beauty has been gracefully preserved through the aesthetic care I’ve provided over time. However, her health has declined significantly due to poor mobility caused by back issues and, this year, she lost the ability to walk. It was a wake-up call for me and a reminder of the urgent need to help her, and others like her, to live life to the fullest—free from frailty in their later years.” Together with medical director Dr Phoong Yee Pin and medical consultant Dr Abirami Mogan, the trio has been leading Aura since January, tucked within the glossy halls of The Exchange 106, offering convenient access for city residents.

As the wellness industry expands, the critical question is: what makes Aura’s services truly worth considering? During my consultation with Dr Phoong, we went over my lifestyle, the issues I hoped to tackle, and suitable treatment options for someone in her early 20s. Even though I already had my eye on some of its exciting treatments, I knew it was essential to consult with the team to pinpoint the ones that would be most beneficial for me. Given that every programme is hyper-personalised, having a personal guide by my side who regularly checked in made all the difference, especially for someone new to the space.

“The key to blending science with a luxury experience lies in personalisation and accessibility. Today, clients seek results-driven therapies while desiring a seamless, rejuvenating experience. We bridge this gap by making advanced treatments approachable and delivering them within a spa-like environment,” Dr Siew says. “Our doctors and consultants guide clients through the science behind treatments and packages, ensuring they are easy to understand. By combining the best of regenerative medicine with a high-touch wellness experience, we empower our clients to optimise their health and longevity with ease.”

Mini review: Aura’s signature treatments

Salt Bath Therapy

Over the course of several months, I dipped in and out of Aura whenever I could to explore their signature offerings at my own pace. However, it wasn’t until a particularly strenuous afternoon that I fully surrendered to a full reset. Starting with a 30-minute salt float bath, this unique therapy harnesses 1,400kg of high-grade Epsom salt in an open-air pool equipped with a micron filtration system—a first in Malaysia. This immersion reduces cortisol levels and gently eases the mind into a meditative calm, which is said to promote better sleep and sharper cognition. Sure, the stillness might feel a bit eerie at first, but once you settle into the water, staying afloat becomes effortless. Thanks to its spacious design, I’d say it’s even more enjoyable to drift alongside a companion.

Then came my favourite: the 30-minute MLX i3Dome infrared therapy. Think of it as a high-tech sweat session where you don’t have to lift a finger. Powered by far-infrared technology, it works deeply to help detox your system, relieve aches, and reboot your cells. All I had to do was lie back—15 minutes on each side—and let the dome do the work. To wrap up, I ended the session with a three-minute cryotherapy blast at -140°C. Unlike conventional chambers that leave your head exposed, Aura’s set-up submerges your entire body, especially the vagus nerve, which plays a vital role in regulating stress. The experience may be intense, but Prince’s When Doves Cry kept me company through the chamber’s Bluetooth speaker—a strangely fitting soundtrack for a moment of sub-zero suspended pause.

“Depending on each individual’s condition, concerns, and overall health, we tailor the ideal combination of programmes and treatments. We now understand that chronic inflammation plays a major role in the ageing process, which is why many of our therapies are designed to target inflammation through multiple approaches,” Dr Siew says. “In addition to wellness treatments, we incorporate cellular therapy and growth factors to help rejuvenate the body at a cellular level. These therapies work in harmony to deliver comprehensive, synergistic results.”

Final thoughts

There’s a common belief that youth is immunity—that sleep can wait, and grinding is a rite of passage. Many see it as normal, even admirable, to burn the midnight oil and sacrifice sleep for productivity. I’d been caught in that cycle for as long as I can remember. But, over time, I realised the trade-off masked a deeper depletion. Burnout isn’t a badge of honour—it’s a clear indicator that your body is waving the white flag.

The first month was challenging. I felt like a walking contradiction—committed to all the right treatments, yet still clinging to all the wrong habits. However, the more I showed up, the more I wanted to do better outside the clinic. The sessions gave me a wonderful physical reset but, more importantly, they offered mental clarity that sparked the discipline and self-awareness I’d been missing. I found the will to make better choices. Gradual results followed once I understood the treatments weren’t magic—they were momentum.

With all that said, the reality is wellness takes real work. The first step is the hardest, but also the most rewarding. “The most important lifestyle change we can make is to adopt a proactive approach to wellness—prioritising cellular health, stress resilience, quality sleep, and metabolic balance,” Dr Siew says. “Longevity isn’t just about adding years to life—it’s about ensuring those years are filled with energy, clarity, and vitality. We must all begin to understand that investing in our well-being today is the key to living well in our later years.”
