The Hennessy brand is no secret to the public, standing as both an art form and a cultural icon. But from this illustrious dynasty, another was born. Founded by an heir to the cognac empire, Kilian Hennessy created Kilian Paris, trading the taste of luxury for its scent.
Inspired by the liquid gold that shaped his heritage, he introduced The Liquors collection, crafted in collaboration with perfumer Benoist Lapouza. The latest addition to the line-up is Angels’ Share on the Rocks, blending the scent of cognac with a zesty dose of bitter orange, grapefruit, lemon, bergamot, and aldehyde to create a sparkling, sun-drenched cocktail (RM1,360 for 50ml; RM2,250 for 100ml). It is crisp and radiant, a fragrance that feels like the touch of morning light before transforming into the ambery warmth of the afternoon, with notes of Laotian cinnamon bark, Venezuelan tonka bean, and oak absolute.

Growing up in a family that has lived and breathed cognac, Kilian Hennessy’s ideal way of savouring the drink is on ice. “My father and grandfather always drank cognac neat,” the founder and creative director of Kilian Paris said in a statement. “I’m the one who dared to commit this ‘sacrilege’. For me, sipping it on ice brings out the essence of the cognac.”

When enjoyed this way, the glass blushes hazy with chill. Similarly, Angels’ Share on the Rocks is presented in a flacon shaped like a cognac glass, kissed with frost as the gilded elixir glows from within. With the changing seasons, this fragrance reflects its transition—starting out bright like summer, then gently unfolding into autumn’s embrace.
