Those of a certain vintage will remember the Golden Phoenix restaurant, the original Equatorial Hotel’s beloved dining establishment that served Cantonese and Szechuan delicacies. This Lunar New Year, Li Yen at The Ritz-Carlton, Kuala Lumpur, is setting the table with curated lunch and dinner set menus made for gathering and celebration, from 3 February to 3 March 2026. The Reunion Stars menu features well-loved signatures, such as double-boiled chicken soup with himematsutake mushrooms and dried scallop, prosperity barbecued suckling pig, and ancient-style steamed dragon tiger grouper with shredded pork—each prepared with care by executive Chinese chef Alex Au and his team. Mark the Year of the Horse with Fifty Tales’ Chinese New Year Cincai Dinner, returning for its second year in collaboration with Brown-Forman. Available from now until 2 March 2026, the limited-time menu reinterprets nostalgic festive favourites with modern flair, paired with in-house cocktails featuring Woodford Reserve, Gin Mare, and Tequila Herradura. Highlights include a citrus-forward abalone yee sang, dry-aged roasted corn-fed chicken, truffle Hokkien char, and mala-style cabbage with prawns. Malaysia’s premier mountaintop resort recently launched the country’s highest altitude immersive attraction, the Genting SkyWorlds Immersive Studio, which received a spot in the Malaysia Book of Records. The studio reflects the resort’s ongoing focus on immersive entertainment and creative storytelling high above the clouds. A Chinese New Year-themed video—which will be running until 3 March 2026—introduced Tian Ma, an adorable horse, as the official mascot for Chinese New Year 2026.
