Grand Hyatt Singapore’s Fresh Renovation Beckons Guests To Enjoy All Of Everything

Grand Hyatt Singapore’s reinvention offers modern, sustainable hospitality in a brand spanking new space.

Following a multi-year redevelopment, the Grand Hyatt Singapore emerged from its chrysalis in the second half of 2025—a hospitality landmark reimagined for the modern day. Over its 55 years, the hotel’s location on Orchard Road has witnessed retail, entertainment, and F&B coalesce within its immediate radius, with ever-evolving and exciting offerings to enthral business travellers and holidaymakers.

It is no surprise, then, that the property—which first opened its doors as Southeast Asia’s largest hotel in 1971 with 200 rooms—would also undergo the same evolutionary path. Its latest iteration is perhaps its most eagerly awaited, with Tokyo-based studio Strickland and Nao Taniyama among the names recruited to redesign a total of 699 rooms plus lounges, infusing the spaces with Singaporean-inflected touches such as terracotta orange tones that recall the country’s Peranakan and multicultural heritage.

“The completed transformation of Grand Hyatt Singapore marks a new milestone for the city’s evolved hospitality landscape,” said Edouard Demptos, General Manager of Grand Hyatt Singapore, at the official completion of its redevelopment. “As one of the first international hotels in Singapore, we have welcomed generations of guests and catered to their changing preferences over five decades. Today, we embark on an exciting new chapter—deepening our commitment to sustainability, wellbeing, and immersive guest experiences, while continuing to deliver the warm, intuitive service and care that has always defined us.”

On a late Sunday morning at the hotel’s verdant Oasis poolside restaurant and bar, the area pulsates with mood music from a DJ as fitness enthusiasts sample healthy menu selections during one of its Oasis Escapes: The Wellness Edition events. Up here, on the beautifully landscaped garden of the hotel’s Terrace Wing, you make your way past the gushing waterfall, koi ponds, yoga lawns, and garden zones planted with nectar plants to attract butterflies.

Adjacent to this green enclave, the Damai wellness hub offers a range of therapies and amenities, from a hydro pool to a halo steam room. Those wishing to delve deeper into the wellness sphere may also experience next-generation spa treatments through Damai’s Mind Body Wellness programmes, incorporating vibroacoustic therapy, light and heat treatments, and oceanic minerals to restore the body’s natural rhythms and alleviate ‘digital stress’.

Hyatt’s continual focus on wellness has also led the hotel chain to partner with Hyrox Asia Pacific as its official regional hotel partner. Across the Asia-Pacific region, Hyatt hotels will offer a Hyrox Stay Experience with benefits including discounts on stays, dining, and spa, as well as recovery-focused amenities for post-race wellness.

Beyond its extensive wellness amenities and programming, the Grand Hyatt Singapore cocoons its guests with the luxury of choice spaces, allowing you to appreciate the passing of time from locations within the hotel. A perfect example is its Grand Club, overlooking the kinetic Scotts Road. “The Grand Club is not simply a lounge—it is a dedicated space where memory, modernity, and local culture come together,” said Nao Taniyama, founder of Nao Taniyama & Associates.

At the Grand Club, daily food presentations of snacks, cheese platters, and the unmissable Singapore laksa are provided with conscientious service. Here, guests begin to sink into the hotel’s particular cocooning quality, feeling and being in a space far removed from the outside bustle.

Similarly, the Le Pristine restaurant—perpetually booked out for its popular weekend brunches—provides an ideal location to detach from daily realities and savour Chef Sergio Herman’s hearty Mediterranean fare, ranging from chilli king crab pizzettes to fish soups made from his father’s handed-down recipe. At your dining table, to the grooves of the music, your culinary experience is heightened by modern artwork, attentive service, and a cosy ambience, complemented by a touch of culinary theatre from the open-concept kitchen.

The hotel’s continued efforts in sustainability also mean that much of the seafood served throughout the property is certified sustainable, as is more than 80 per cent of the organic vegetables sourced from local farms and Cameron Highlands. It also operates a closed-loop food waste-to-farm aquaponics system, while the entire property runs entirely on renewable electricity.

It is fitting, then, that the latest iteration of Grand Hyatt Singapore has ticked the wellness and sustainability boxes in such a major way, given the growing importance of transformative travel. Beyond its green credentials and all-encompassing wellbeing programmes and amenities, the hotel also invites guests to simply enjoy themselves within its grounds—with everything from achieving your deepest sleep thanks to phenomenal blackout curtains, to finding calm among its zen-like gardens.
