At the recent Chinese Lunar New Year celebrations of Lamborghini Community Malaysia (LCM) with the marque’s sole authorised importer and dealer, Lamborghini Kuala Lumpur, an estimated 150 guests turned up, comprising members of the LCM, their partners, and invited supercar communities and clubs, as well as international guests such as representatives for Lamborghini Club China and Singapore.

The evening, which took place at the glittering five-star Sunway Resort Hotel, witnessed an incredible array of mechanical art in the form of the bulls pulling into the hotel’s driveway. Among the models spotted was a fleet of Lamborghini Urus Super SUVs, the remarkable Revuelto, as well as the Aventador, Gallardo, and various iteration of the Huracán, including the STO and Tecnica. Inside the main ballroom, the envelope-pushing Huracán Sterrato—equipped with the dedicated version of the LDVI (Lamborghini Integrated Vehicle Dynamics) system—welcomed guests with its festive Rosso Mars garb.

Very soon, the dinner launched into full swing with guests feted with Remy Martin X.O cognac and flutes of Champagne Telmont. An acrobatic lion dance among the bulls led to the arrival of the evening’s guest-of-honour—Tan Sri Sir Dr Jeffrey Cheah, the founder and chairman of Sunway Group.

In his welcoming remarks, LCM president Andy Cheeng thanked all of the guests and explained that the event was more than a celebration of the lunar new year. It also represented a chance for members and their guests to indulge their charitable spirits, with several auspicious and unique items on auction to raise funds for various charities, including the Women’s Aid Organisation, an NGO that provides free shelter, counselling, and crisis support for at-risk women and children.

As the night progressed, an electrifying dragon dance performance gave away to a feng shui talk and an energetic live band performance, setting the stage for a lively auction session. Among the items that generated heat were a decanter of Louis XIII cognac, a three-night retreat at Thailand’s Chiva-Som wellness resort, and a duo of Liuli Crystal art pieces, named Profundity and Great Luck, Great Yield, respectively.

In the final reckoning, and with generous top-ups from LCM members, a total sum of RM130,000 was raised from the auctions—50 per cent of which was channelled to Women’s Aid Organisation, with the remainder earmarked for other noble causes.
