Great Scotch!
The 1824 Masters Series issued by The Macallan is now complete. Released on July 27, which is National Scotch Day, the final chapter in the 1824 Masters Series introduced Reflexion and No. 6 to the previously-issued Rare Cask and M whiskies, all packaged in stunning decanters. With the completion, the decanters and the whiskies therein now carry whisky connoisseurs through the range, beginning with Rare to the crescendo of M, the halo of the entire series.
Named to commemorate the year The Macallan was established, the 1824 Masters Series celebrates whiskies that are increasingly darker and richer in flavour as one progresses up through the range. With each expression, the whisky complexity increases, as does its hue of natural colour, as well as the intricacy of the decanter. The desire to celebrate the whiskies’ natural colours is evident in the exquisite style of each decanter, custom designed to better display each individual hue. Inspiration is also taken from The Macallan’s iconic triangle with light-reflecting angular facets and asymmetrical influences. All of the whiskies in the range are painstakingly hand selected by The Macallan’s Master Whisky Maker, Bob Dalgarno, charting a path through The Macallan’s unique sherry casks, increasing in scarcity and rarity through each expression.
The Macallan’s Master of Wood, Stuart MacPherson, notes: “Wood sits at the very heart of what we do at The Macallan and this range further demonstrates the vital role of our casks in the production of these superb whiskies. Our commitment to sherry seasoned oak casks is unquestionable and the 1824 Masters Series showcases The Macallan at its very best. ”
