Fancy a Wajer?
Overhead shots of the new Wajer 55 convey the boat’s simple beauty, taking in its long composite foredeck, sweeping one-piece windshield, and downturn of the tumblehome at the stern. Sinot Exclusive Yacht Design, creator of superyachts like Heesen’s Nova and Feadship’s Fountainhead, took pains to give the ship an unassuming profile. Except for the small stainless intake grilles toward the stern, there are no indentations along the sides of the boat.
The 55’s proportions are similar to its smaller siblings, the Wajer 38 and 37 – sleeker yet with the same family features of the Wajer brand – and the supersized cockpit turns the 55 into a social outpost. The exterior can easily hold 16 people on the cockpit lounges and the large sunbeds located on the foredeck and stern. The helm and passenger bucket seats accommodate another four. At the transom, broad full-beam stairs lead down to the water – arguably as regal as one can get for a 55-foot cruising yacht.
Despite its classic good looks, the Wajer 55 has a few futuristic features, like the swim platform that converts to an underwater swim ladder or gangway to the dock, and an automatic foldable roof. Based in the northern Netherlands, the yard is known for its meticulous attention to detail and a superior level of craftsmanship.
