Sporty soles
Earlier this year, French handball player Henry Tai launched his e-concept store SportyHenri.com, focusing on the high-end sportswear market. And while it made somewhat of a splash, it was when footwear maestro Christina Louboutin began collaborating with SportyHenri that the biggest splashes were made. First, the duo collaborated on dressing the national delegation of Cuba to the Rio Olympic games, cladding the athletes in sharp designs with accents of Louboutin’s signature red. From that, a second collaboration comes – a capsule collection of sneakers designed by Louboutin for SportyHenri, inspired by its motto – ‘mettre le sport en valeur’ or ‘sport with value’.
Four designs comprise the collection, including classic high-top and low-rise designs. SportyHenri’s clean colour palette of white, cobalt blue and black is reflected across the four styles, from clean blocks of colour and graphic patterns to a studded, armoured look. The Christian Louboutin & SportyHenri limited edition collection can be purchased online at the SportyHenri website, with prices starting at €545 (RM2,515) for the SH Junior flat calf style, €625 (RM2,885) for the SH Bip Bip flat calf and €950 (RM4,385) for the SH One and SH Blue styles. And before you ask, yes, the soles of the shoes are Louboutin red.
