Arguably the greatest icon of affluence for over a century, Rolls-Royce has avoided marketing and industry trends and focused solely on master craftsmanship. Holding fast to the concept of automobiles as high art, the 110-year-old marque understands that a masterpiece, by definition, is not made en masse.
“To be truly luxurious, an item has to fulfil a number of important fundamentals,” says Torsten Müller-Ötvös, chief executive officer of Rolls-Royce Motor Cars. “It should be unique, handcrafted, authentic, beautiful – and rare.”
In 2003, Rolls-Royce opened its Bespoke Design division as part of the company’s headquarters and production centre in Goodwood, England. The team is tasked with creating exquisite examples tailored to the automotive aspirations of its most discriminating clientele. From one-of-a-kind cars to extremely limited-edition runs, here are just a few of the marvels manufactured.
