Australia’s renowned Katnook Estate’s fine wines will be part of an exquisite 5-course dinner by Mandarin Grill at Mandarin Oriental, Kuala Lumpur on 2 March 2017.
Located in the premium wine district of Coonawarra in South Australia with vineyards spanning 198 hectares of prime terra rossa soil, Katnook Estate’s winemaking history stretches back to 1896. First wines under Katnook label were made in 1980 after the Yunghanns family purchased the estate and planted the first vines in 1971. Coonawarra is among the very few regions in the world which offers diversity in its terroir and Katnook estate is home to some of Australia’s finest terra rossa vineyards.
Paired with a 5-course menu, the dinner will be graced by Alison Harvey, Director of Katnook Estate who will be sharing her expansive knowledge and guiding guests through some of these fine wines Katnook Estate has to offer. Priced at RM 388 nett per person, the menu is as follows:-
- Duck foie gras terrine with vanilla jelly and roast pineapple chutney

- Cured lamb leg with green bean salad, pumpkin pickles and malt bread crisp
- Paired with Shiraz, Katnook Estate 2009
- Tuna dukkah crust with roasted red bell pepper coulis and herbs salad

- Grilled sher wagyu sirloin with Xerex vinegar glazed pearl onions, potato gratin and traditional gravy
