Calling all House Music fans. Get ready for a royal treat when the one and only King of House Music debuts at Marini’s on 57, on 31 March 2017 for another instalment of “It’s All About House Music”.
Legendary Farley ‘Jackmaster’ Funk, one of the original house music pioneers, will be making his Malaysian debut for one night only, with Marini’s on 57 resident DJs Jeff Jefferson and RJ Funk. Chicago-born Farley is house music royalty, and one of the contemporaries of house music legend Frankie Knuckles. Farley was part of the Hot Mix 5, an American DJ team originating from Chicago, Illinois, and the first to use the technique of scratching in house music.
Not only is Farley a DJ turned artist, producer, songwriter, director, TV presenter and radio host, he is also credited for bringing house music to the United Kingdom and Europe in the mid-1980s.
Farley gave house music its first big hit with Love Can’t Turn Around, which features the late vocalist Darryl Pandy. The anthem made its mark in the UK Top 10 and gave clubbers a taste of what eventually followed, a new generation of unshakable house music fans. His other hits over the years include Jack My Body, Hey Norton, The Trax U Lost and House Nation, which also made it into the top ten of the UK charts at the time of release.
The party starts at 9.00pm, and the cover charge for the event is RM88++ which includes entry to the event and a beverage.
