In celebration of the release of the film Paddington 2 on November 10, 2017, Belmond is flagging off a steam-hauled Paddington Afternoon Tea journey aboard Belmond British Pullman, the very train that plays a starring role in the sequel of the firm family favourite. The new journeys bring the magic of Paddington’s adventures to London’s favourite train.
Departing from London Victoria Station on December 2, 2017 and February 16, 2018, Belmond British Pullman is set to be hauled by steam locomotive Tornado, which stars alongside the train in the movie, taking families on a Paddington-inspired Afternoon Tea adventure. Tornado, a Peppercorn class steam locomotive, hauls the 1920s and 30s carriages on various journeys throughout the year and they come together to give families a journey of a lifetime for two dates only.
Fit for small and grown-up bears, the Afternoon Tea menu includes many sweet treats and marmalade sandwiches. Paddington-inspired activities are also available onboard for families throughout the journey to fully immerse themselves in the world of Paddington.
Belmond British Pullman, one of Belmond’s eight luxury rail experiences, travels from London Victoria Station throughout the year, offering unique day journeys to iconic locations across the country. In addition, the train also hosts a series of pop-up culinary events with some of the country’s top celebrity chefs.
Prices start from £550, based on two adults and two children under 16 travelling together, on either 2nd December 2017 or 16th February 2018.
