If you have any interest in fashion or pop culture, you’ll know that Versace is currently enjoying a renaissance.

You can thank the star-studded cast of FX’s The Assassination of Gianni Versace: American Crime Story – Season 2 for this renewed interest. The drama, which began airing in the US in January, features Penelope Cruz, Darren Criss and Ricky Martin. As the title suggests, the plot follows the events leading to Gianni Versace’s death in 1997.

Coincidentally – or perhaps not – Donatella Versace paid tribute to the 20th anniversary of Gianni’s passing in her Spring/Summer 2018 show. And as co-sponsor of the Met Gala 2018, Donatella herself will co-host the glitzy affair alongside Rihanna and Amal Clooney.

Then there’s also the zeitgeist’s current infatuation with all things 90s, which we won’t go into. Versace played a huge role in shaping the decade’s aesthetics.

What we will go into is the new season Versace-Rosenthal collection. The collaboration between the Italian fashion heavyweight and the German porcelain maker is now in its 25th year. In celebration of this, Rosenthal meets Versace is releasing a Limited Edition of special pieces: 25 plates and teacups featuring 25 legendary designs, marking the history of this unique alliance. Elsewhere, there’s also the Medusa Silver Collection and the La Scala del Palazzo series.

In the Medusa Silver Collection tea set, the powerful Medusa symbol – so iconic of Versace – forms the central motif. The wares are wrought in gold and silver tones, forming a striking interplay between high-gloss and powder-matte surfaces. The majestic marble staircase of the Palazzo Versace in Milan inspires the opulent La Scala del Palazzo range. Think shimmering metallic spirals and architectural elements interpreted on a pink or mint green ground.
