The museum in Stuttgart supersizes the popular Lego build
Greeting guests at the Porsche Museum in Stuttgart last month was a life-sized Lego version of the Porsche 911 Turbo 3.0, looking impressive in its lime green paintwork. However, unlike other life-sized Lego builds that use actual Lego bricks, this model used enlarged pieces made from fibreglass to create a supersized version of the popular model that is available as part of the Lego Speed Champions Porsche 911 RSR and 911 Turbo 3.0.
There are no plans to make the life-sized version available for sale – either as a whole or as individual blocks – but Porsche enthusiasts can opt for the next best (smaller and cheaper) thing, as the Lego set retails for RM199 in Malaysia. For something a little more challenging, there is the Lego Technic Porsche 911 GTS RS kit, consisting of 2,704 pieces that retails for RM1,499 in Malaysia. Though it won’t fetch as great a return as a vintage Porsche, this could be a tidy little profit maker as well, given the rise of Lego as an alternative investment trend.
