The Hublot Big Bang Alps timepieces are just the thing for the alpine-inclined couple. This rendition of the marque’s iconic watches have cases fashioned of a new type of frosted carbon that resembles the granite rock prevalent throughout the Swiss Alps. The men’s watch (RM106,900) is a 45mm flyback chronograph with a boldly skeletonised dial. The ladies’ version (RM93,500) is more petite at 39mm, and features a date window, an ice blue sunray dial and 42 diamonds on the bezel.
However, it is the cuff that they are mounted on which completes the image: oversized, fur-lined blue sheep leather that is stylishly warm and well suited to the ski slopes. The cuff can be removed in favour of the included calfskin strap and a more elegant look — perhaps for a cosy dinner at the apres-ski lodge.
