Horology And Art Come Together At Bell & Ross’ First Art Exhibition with Jalaini Abu Hassan

Revealing the ghost

Bell & Ross turned a new chapter when they recently launched Jalaini Abu Hassan’s GHOST art exhibition. With the aim of spurring curiosity and appreciation for local art and culture, this event marks the first time the Swiss watch maker has engaged with the Malaysian art scene.

Featuring the work of pioneering contemporary visual artist Jalaini Abu Hassan, guests included renowned art critics, leading architects, eminent collectors, fashion designers and graphic artists as well. The highlight of the launch was Jalaini’s 15 minute live painting performance, that he used to complete the final piece of the GHOST series.

Held at up and coming art space, The Godown,  the grand finale saw ambient lighting being replaced with a flood of ultraviolet lights. With the artist’s use of glow-in-the-dark pigments, this GHOST paintings came alive to reveal an altogether different presentation that was at once dynamic and sublime.
