The Ritz-Carlton Kuala Lumpur takes afternoon tea to the next level
Sporting a fresh, bright, and elegant new look to its Lobby Lounge, The Ritz-Carlton, Kuala Lumpur has celebrated its successful refurbishment by unveiling its new Afternoon Tea experience (RM91 per person). In homage to the time-honoured, quintessential English tradition of afternoon tea, an assortment of treats come beautifully presented on three tiers, paired with a bone china pot of perfectly steeped Ronnefeldt tea.
Edible delights that span the lowest to the highest tiers include unctuous mushroom quiches, beef pastrami and mozzarella sandwiches, freshly baked cranberry and lemon wholemeal scones, delicate finger sandwiches and a candy-coloured selection of desserts. The raspberry and vanilla choux buns, blueberry financiers, lemon and caramel éclairs, and morello cherry cheesecake will particularly thrill those with a penchant for sweet pastries.
In addition, there are over 40 different Ronnefeldt teas to choose from, giving new meaning to the phrase ‘the agony of choice’. A red-pink, naturally sweet Raspberry Royal infusion pairs wonderfully with fruity desserts, while the more delicate flavours of Fancy Sencha and Darjeeling Summer Gold will appeal to those who prefer their teas subtle and light. The star tea is undoubtedly The Ritz-Carlton, Kuala Lumpur Blend, created exclusively for the hotel by Ronnefeldt: a mixture of black and green oolong, steamed with milk to give it a uniquely creamy undertone that lingers on your tastebuds until you next return.
