THE VACHERON CONSTANTIN FABULEUX ORNEMENTS COLLECTION
For two years now, Vacheron Constantin has celebrated ornamental beauties from around the globe with its Métiers d’Art Fabuleux Ornements collection. Most recently, it unveiled four new models to add to its repertoire.
Having picked the brains of 10 master artisans, the company has designed four reinterpretations inspired by the zest of Chinese needlework, the history of Indian manuscripts, the complexity of French lacework and the Ottoman architecture.
The timepieces are equipped with the same movement, and feature a recurring theme where traditional arts fuse with different cultures. What makes each artwork different is the artisanal techniques used. Indian manuscript uses Grand Feu champlevé enameling and hand engraving; Ottoman architecture uses chamfering on a white mother-of-pearl base filled with gold grid work and half-pearl beads; French lacework is adorned with a translucent hand-guilloche Grand Feu enameled dial set with garnet-coloured sapphires and diamonds, while Chinese embroidery uses the cloisonné technique, and finishing it with pink gold and jade.
As a finishing touch, each piece is outlined with 64 diamonds on the bezel, set in either 18k white gold, or 18k 5N pink gold cases. Only 20 pieces of each model are available.
