Adam Chodzko’s New Contemporary Art Exhibition Explores The Subject Of Dreams
From now until 27 May at Wei-Ling Contemporary at Brickfields, ‘but as we looked it suddenly began to change’ will feature British artist Adam Chodzko’s selected recent and new works, including videos, drawings, and process-based sculpture. The exhibition is an experiment to embody the nocturnal consciousness we all activate during sleep from the artist who has been featured at Bologna Museum of Modern Art and Tate Britain. This followed his research into the cultural practices of the Senoi people, one of Malaysia’s indigenous orang asli communities, who are renowned for their exceptional relationship with the dream state.
Jean Imbert To Become The Chef Of Hôtel Martinez Cannes
Overlooking the Bay of Cannes, this Art Deco-styled hotel is the embodiment of the carefree spirit of the French Riviera and the Mediterranean lifestyle. Celebrity chef Jean Imbert will take over the reins at the hotel, starting with La Plage du Martinez. He is regarded as the successor of the great names in French gastronomy, such as Alain Ducasse and the late Joël Robuchon. Following a two-year stint at the Plaza Athénée hotel in Paris, where he won a Michelin star, he will take over the management of all the restaurants of the 5-star establishment.
Julien Dugourd Designs A Pastry Version Of A Bell & Ross Timepiece
Pastry chef Julien Dugourd, who is a great lover of watches, undertook a feat of virtuosity to design a pastry version of the BR 01 Cyber Skull Bronze. The chef – who has been chosen by the Prince’s Palace of Monaco, and is also a member of the very exclusive Club des Chefs des Chefs – has created a chocolate-caramel cake using the stylistic codes of the Bell & Ross timepiece. The base of the cake consists of a Caribbean crisp, while the whole cake is embossed with cocoa butter and coloured with natural ingredients to create a bronze effect. A small chocolate wafer sprinkled with gold duplicates the Jolly Roger insignia, which is the stylistic signature of the watches. The cake is on display at the Patisserie Julien Dugourd in Nice. The BR 01 Cyber Skull Bronze timepiece retails for RM50,900 and is limited to 500 pieces.
Mesmerise With Penhaligon’s Celestial Scents
The British perfume house by the man who became Perfumer to Queen Victoria are introducing a new fragrance, Solaris Eau de Parfum, and a repack of the brand’s bestseller in the British Tales pillar, Luna Eau de Toilette. Solaris opens with a sparkling top note of blackcurrant, followed by a creamy floral bouquet of ylang ylang. The background is enveloped by the warm woody vibrations of sandalwood and the sensuality of vanilla. Meanwhile, Luna is a fresh floral scent, offering a feminine counterpart to the woody leather notes of the maison’s unisex fragrance Endymion Concentré. Inspired by the astral universe, Luna opens with the bitter freshness of orange bigarade while the heart unfolds with the crisp lightness of juniper berry, rounded off with a dark woody base. Both perfumes are priced at RM950 for 100ml. Penhaligon’s is available exclusively at Escentials KLCC.
Miu Miu L’Été Collection Champions A Stripped-Back Look
This contemporary wardrobe takes inspiration from the charm of underwear worn as outerwear, the precision of men’s tailoring, and the ease of sportswear, all stripped to its essence – stripped bare. Think crochet knits and gauzy slips in delicate neutrals and glimmering metallics juxtaposed with signature logoed bralettes and panties. The accessories are fashionable yet functional with breezy beach hats, leather thong boots, and plump matelassé leather bags, including the Miu Wander. The bag is reinterpreted each season and has become an iconic accessory of the brand. The Miu Wander matelassé nappa leather mini hobo bag, which blends retro inspiration and contemporary elegance, is priced at US$2,750.

A partnership with the Rembrandthuis museum gives guests the chance to dine in the Dutch Golden Age painter’s actual kitchen. Rates at the hotel start from €200 for a Superior room, including breakfast for two.
