Tia Wellness Resort is a luxury beachfront destination in Da Nang, Vietnam, where each of its 87 private villas all have their own plunge pool. Located just a 30-minute drive from Da Nang International Airport, the multi-award-winning resort draws guests from all over the world, thanks to its Wellness Inclusive, Retreat Inclusive, and Private Retreat stay packages, as well as its superb wellness-focused dining options, picture-perfect setting, and an outstanding wellness centre. To wit, the centre features 22 treatment rooms, an adults-only swimming pool (there’s also a general pool that’s very Instagram-friendly, of course), ice baths, relaxation areas amidst tropical gardens, and specialised studios for yoga, HIIT workouts, and breathwork—just to name a few. It’s the perfect getaway for every kind of traveller, whether you’re honeymooners or renewing wedding vows, burnt out from the rat race or wanting to supercharge your fitness and wellness.

To augment its wellness offerings, it’s looking to a daily routine that we may take for granted: the bath. These Wellness Bath Rituals go beyond dumping some oils and herbs in your room’s tub. Instead, everything, from lighting to customised drinks, as well as what you do before and after, is all taken into consideration. The recently introduced Bath Rituals include Radiant Glow, Detox Harmony, Romance Bliss, and Deep Slumber (they’re an additional VND1,500,000 per bath). For instance, the bath water utilised in Radiant Glow is infused with green tea rose petals, Himalayan pink salt, raw honey, and coconut milk. It’ll come with a homemade body scrub, face sheet mask, and a non-alcoholic Collagen Pineapple Colada, so that your skin will glow brighter than the glorious sunshine hitting the beach a few steps away from your villa. Meanwhile, Detox Harmony is inspired by Vietnamese botanical wisdom and features a Red Dao herbal blend of 10 native forest herbs, ginger, lemongrass, and Himalayan pink salt. Guests will also enjoy a spirulina detox shot, bliss balls, and a detox hot tea, so that your skin, body, and mind are all properly purified.

For couples looking to strengthen their commitment to each other, the Romance Bliss bath includes Damask rose petals, jasmine flowers, raw honey, Himalayan pink salt, and a blend of rose, lavender and sweet orange oils. Chocolate-covered strawberries and champagne will delight both palates, while massage oil, a vase of flowers, and a love letter complete the romantic setting. Last but not least is the Deep Slumber ritual, which is emblematic of Tia’s total approach to wellness. It starts far away from your bed or bath, with a relaxing massage in the wellness centre. Then, the bath includes Epsom salts (for its magnesium, which helps to improve sleep), dried mugwort (to help ease anxiety), and lavender oil and flowers (which also help to deepen sleep quality). It comes with a Lavender Reishi Latte, which uses a medicinal mushroom ingredient to help reduce stress.

Getting a good, if not great, night’s sleep is a crucial health-and-wellness priority of mine, so it was a no-brainer to opt for the Deep Slumber ritual. Duy, my Wellness Guide from the resort, recommends that I book the bath for just a little after dinner, as the team needs about 45 minutes to set it up. The scent of lavender welcomes me home the moment I open the villa door. Electronic candles, set to a soft amber glow, are placed all around the bath. I feel calmer already.

Relaxing in the bath, Lavender Reishi Latte in hand, is an exercise in mindfulness. Although A Little Bit of Meditation by Amy Leigh Mercree is provided and the TV can swivel around to face the bath, I avoid these sensory temptations and force myself to rest, recuperate, be present, and, well, meditate. It’s an odd feeling at first—working hard to relax—but the bathwater, the blend of ingredients, and the overall setting eventually put my mind at ease and to stop thinking of a thousand things at a hundred miles an hour all at once. The only reason why I depart from this lavender-infused haven is because I’ve gotta dry myself off for bed.

“Rituals are powerful tools for bringing wellbeing into everyday life. Although a full bath ritual may not always be practical at home, elements of it can easily be incorporated into a daily routine—such as using a calming lavender eye mask before sleep,” says Ramon Imper, general manager of Tia Wellness Resort. “At Tia, our approach is always about accessibility. We want guests to take something with them that they can continue at home. This is what differentiates us from more clinical or technology-driven wellness concepts—our focus is on simple, meaningful practices that integrate naturally into daily life.”

One more thing provided with my bath ritual: an herbal eye pillow, featuring lavender, rosemary, and chrysanthemum. I strap it on, tuck myself into the luxuriously comfortable bed, and collapse into the calmest, deepest, most wonderful eight hours of sleep I’ve had in the longest time.
