Puri Nirwana’s beachfront residence, a standalone villa, makes quite a statement along the coast of Gianyar, Bali. Looking toward the island of Nusa Penida, Puri Nirwana is ideal for a large family or friends who want nothing more than to kick back and relax in private.

The classic colonial-style villa sits on 5,000sqm of land and stuns with a manicured front lawn, two outdoor bales for dining and socialising, a stone terrace, 17-m pool overlooking the beach, and six bedrooms across two levels. There’s even a separate spa villa on site, for where guests wish to indulge and ease sore muscles.

While guests may plan their own itinerary, Puri Nirwana has designed a special package for Robb Report readers who wish to throw an extravagant yet intimate birthday celebration.

The three-day trip starts with a day of relaxation. Upon touching down in Denpasar airport, a luxury van will pick up you and your 11 guests. After exploring the villa and freshening up, hop on your 14-seater private bus and explore the island of the Gods. Be chauffeured from area to area, stopping at both local and tourist spots. This service is available for 10 consecutive hours per day.

For those who’d rather relax back in the villa, indulge in the one-hour full-body massage, play a game of billiards in the entertainment room, take a dip in the swimming pool, or lounge in the sheltered open-air living area. A private chef will also whip up meals and snacks to your liking, as and when you wish.

Get together in the evening for an Indonesian buffet, and learn more about the island’s culture, food, and its people. Be sure to watch the stars dance in the sky, for the property is situated by the beach, and is free from light pollution.

The next day, after a hearty breakfast in the villa, you may once again set out to explore. Meanwhile, the staff of Puri Nirwana will begin to prepare for the birthday party. The residence’s Illuminating Birthday Party package caters for up to 30 guests, including the birthday boy/girl, so if you wish to invite more guests, simply speak to Puri Nirwana’s guest relations officer and make separate arrangements to accommodate them in nearby, similarly-styled villas.

The lawn will be transformed into a stunning birthday location, complete with sound and lighting equipment, decoration, dining tables, chairs and cutlery.

We recommend returning to the villa mid-afternoon, for a pop-up bar will be constructed, with a world champion mixologist serving specialty cocktails to your liking. Mingle around the cocktail and coffee tables, lounge on plush armchairs, and whet your appetite with snacks, salads and side dishes. A live band will also provide entertainment to set the tone for the night.

Dinner comes in the form of a BBQ buffet that includes platters of meats and seafood. In between enjoying music spun by a DJ, be thrilled as local stuntmen perform a live fire show.

The highlight of the night of course, is when the staff brings out the birthday cake along with other bite-sized desserts. From then on, the after-party begins. Dance and drink to your heart’s content. While the DJ stops spinning at 10.30pm, there’s no need to end the party. Take the party to the poolside, adjourn indoors, or head to the beach.

Take it slow and easy on the last day. Breakfast is once again provided, and depending on your flight, explore other areas of Bali, or make full use of the villa’s facilities. Upon checking out, a van will once again pick you up, and drop you off at the airport.
