Discover the flavours of India on this eight-day tour through Delhi, Hyderabad, Kolkata and Darjeeling. Foodies will embark on a mouth-watering culinary journey learning about the street food culture and tea heritage of India.
Day one is spent in Delhi where you’ll explore the museums, temples, bazaars and shopping emporiums of the bustling metropolis. You’ll also pay one of the oldest and busiest markets, Chandni Chowk market, known for its spices, cloths and local herbal medicine.
The next day, tour the magnificent Chowmahalla Palace. The sacred palace of the Nazims is known for its unique architectural style, and you’ll be taken to see the clock tower, council hall, and the Roshan Bangla.
The next few days will see you viewing the largest private collection of antiques in the world at the Salarjung Museum, revisiting British India in the 19th century,
Victorian gothic buildings and churches.You’ll also enjoy a traditional Bengali dinner and spend a night at The Oberoi Grand, a villa-styled hotel.
Day four and five brings you to Kolkata. For those with a sweet tooth, pop by Jaggu Bazaar and the Balaram Mallick sweet shop, one of the oldest candy makers in the city.
From there, you’ll leave the cities and visit forest villages, tea plantations and hillside towns, where you’ll learn how to pluck tea leaves and cook local food.
