Unlike such icons as stunning beaches, offshore islands and delectable seafood, Vietnam’s bustling coastal city Nha Trang isn’t famous for its art. Yet.
If you chance upon the right people who can open the doors to the homes and galleries of the area’s top artists, you will soon discover that Nha Trang in fact boasts a rich art landscape too.
To give travellers authentic insights into Vietnam’s art scene and fascinating culture, The Anam’s general manager Herbert Laubichler-Pichler and Nguyen Hong Van, who opened Nha Trang’s first art
gallery called The Rainbow Gallery, have created an exquisite, one-of-a-kind art tour called the Nha Trang Art Tour.
As part of this intimate art tour, Van and Herbert invite art enthusiasts into the homes and galleries of acclaimed local artists, providing the ultimate “insider” knowledge about the destination.
Van’s husband painter Bui Van Quang, photographer Mai Loc, as well as painters Nguyen Huu Bai, Ngo Dang Hiep, Le Huynh, Tran Ha, and Le Van Duy, Luu Thanh Qua and Tran Thi Bao Tran, and sculptors Doan
Xuan Hung and Bui Trung Chinh, are the talented artists supporting the tour.
The Nha Trang Art Tour starts at 2pm and finishes at 5pm, followed by dinner. The tour is priced at US$35 per person for guests staying at Nha Trang hotels, and US$40 per person for guests in areas outside of Nha Trang such as Cam Ranh. The cost includes pick up from the hotel, transportation to four artists’ homes and galleries, and dinner.
