Oscar Wilde’s Favourite Hotel Has Reopened For Business

Just off the main entrance of the Belmond Cadogan are the luxury brands and high-end retailers of Knightsbridge. Straight on from its side entrance is the artistic heart of Chelsea. Located in the middle of London and between two stylish districts, this hotel seems to embody the best of both cultures.

New owners Belmond recently launched the property in February after an arduous restoration period involving five 1800s Queen Anne-style buildings. Inside, guests will discover furnishings with a distinctly Georgian tradition albeit tempered with contemporary artworks. The historic Cadogan Hotel is a total of 54 rooms, tranquil gardens for taking tea and a well-stocked cocktail bar to raise a toast to a former patron who was allegedly arrested here for being too fabulous for his time.

With a restaurant that’s headed by an exciting young chef Adam Handling, diners will savour seasonal and sustainable British cuisine as few have experienced. Tipped by Caterer magazine as one of 30 Under 30 chefs to watch, the young chef’s goal is not world renown, but to be chosen by locals as the preferred fine dining restaurant in Chelsea.
