This Parisian hotel was the city’s first to be designated a ‘Palace’ (a class above 5-star). Situated on Rue de Faubourg Saint-Honoré, your next door neighbour is Monsieur Macron of the Elysée Palace and equally as important, the flagship Hermes and several other luxury boutiques are just 10-minutes walk east of the front entrance.
Opened in 1925 this property is the quintessential French experience featuring polished marble floors, crystal chandeliers, lavish flower arrangements, Versailles-style furniture and 17th century tapestries. The pool on the sixth floor remains a sight to behold, with its old-world wooden panelling and flanked on both sides by floor-to-ceiling windows.
For Christmas, Légion d’honneur-decorated Eric Frechon invites you to dine at the 3-starred Epicure (6-course Christmas Eve tasting menu at €820). On his menu: Foie Gras and Marenne Oysters cooked en papilotte, Saumuré sea trout with sea greens and caviar, Bresse Hen with vin jaunt and black truffles. Alternatively, pay a visit to one-Michelin-starred 114 Faubourg (6-course tasting menu at €400) serving Pigeon and Foie Gras, Langoustine Royale and Sologne caviar.
