This New Lunch Affair For Two Promises A Posh Repast From Colonial Times
The Colonial Cafe at The Majestic Hotel Kuala Lumpur gives you the perfect excuse to enjoy a sumptuous meal with a loved one with their new one-for-one lunch promo. Called “A Colonial Lunch Affair” and available daily, the five-course menu (RM180 nett for 2 persons) comes packed with traditional dishes.
Start the meal with a British classic – prawn cocktail – featuring cooked prawns served on a bed of shredded lettuce and chopped cucumber doused in a spicy cocktail sauce. The next course, cream of tomato, uses creme fraiche to enhance the sweetness of a hearty tomato broth, topped with herbed garlic croutons.

The mid-course entry is another restaurant speciality – Hainanese chicken chop – presenting a cracker-crumbed deep-fried chicken as the star and fresh garden peas and hand-cut fries as its supporting cast. The dish isn’t complete without its signature sauce however, of which the hotel uses a tangy spiced onion-gravy to enrich the flavours present.
For the main, there’s a light yet flavourful poached red snapper fillet served with baby bok choy and lemon cream sauce, contrasting the dish before it. To finish, Colonial Cafe serves its beloved old-fashioned streaked chocolate and butter cake, perfect with a cup of black tea or coffee.
