Maison Crivelli’s Musc Nurāsana Fragrance Tells A Story Of Intimate Mornings And New Beginnings

Maison Crivelli has unveiled its latest fragrance, the Musc Nurāsana. Since its inception in 2018, the perfumery is no stranger to crafting scents that spark unique impressions. Founder Thibaud Crivelli draws inspiration from childhood memories and lived experiences, creating fragrances that translate emotion into smell. For its latest release, teaming up with perfumer Gaël Montero, the house brings to life the essence of vitality and serenity, where a suspended breath and a quiet whisper are encapsulated in an olfactory form.
Crafted around the scent of musk as its foundation, a muted fragrance often misunderstood or taken for granted, the eau de parfum tells a story of new beginnings and rejuvenated energy. It opens up with bergamot, waking you up amidst the unfurling of morning, with woody and floral notes of olibanum incense and damask rose setting the scene as you take in your first, calm breath. Hints of tonka bean and cistus turn this sensation into a prolonged whisper, before, finally, only musk remains, as you sit in its silence and bask in its glory.
Even its name, Musc Nurāsana (derived from Nūr, meaning “light” in Arabic, and Āsana, or “posture” in Sanskrit), reflects the way it grounds this sensation into a feeling suspended in motion. Likewise, its bottle’s dusky rose appearance depicts the bloom of a quiet dayspring, bringing its dawn motif full circle.
Those fleeting moments when one’s body first awakens can often seem insignificant. Yet, on a terrace baked in morning light, Thibaud Crivelli drew inspiration for this scent from a stretching session, basking in its serenity and the vitality that engulfs him. “One step, then another. The rhythm slows, and I am inhabited by a feeling. In this in-between moment, suspended in time,” Crivelli wrote, taken from pages within his adventure journal. “I open my eyes. Musc Nurāsana is born.”
