Hermes Has Successfully Bottled The Sweet Scents Of Eden

It took an accidental discovery of the Garden of Eden on Venice’s Giudecca Island for Christine Nagel, Hermes’ in-house perfumer, to come up with the concept of Un Jardin sur la Lagune (RM590 for 100ml EDT). This oasis of green in the heart of Venice was designed by Englishman Frederic Eden in 1884, who planted roses, pine trees, tropical plants, and cypresses in his own personal paradise. In her tribute, Nagel has artfully distilled Eden’s essence of paradise into an amalgamation of sky, flowers, and sea, with tender echoes of salicornia, sea winds, pittosporums, Madonna lilies, and magnolias.
