Rolex Unveils Its Grand New Boutique In The Starhill

Rolex recently unveiled its newest boutique in Kuala Lumpur, occupying premium real estate in the heart of the city. Located on the ground floor of The Starhill, the boutique also sports a grand external façade overlooking Jalan Bukit Bintang, rendered in a wave-like texture in the brand’s signature elegant green.

Inside, the 268 sq m exemplifies clean modernist design, with high ceilings and straight lines melting into harmonious curves, and plenty of light-coloured materials and space to convey a professional but relaxed atmosphere. A flowing Milanese chandelier, with sections meant to evoke the iconic Jubilee bracelet, lends a touch of elegance. Behind a fluted wood partition lies the boutique’s centrepiece: a bar crafted out of green Verde Alpi marble, commanding a sense of rich occasion.

While the front of the boutique holds display cases, where one can peruse horological icons from the Datejust to the Submariner, the rear, past the bar, is devoted to lounge settings. Here, next to displays that highlight Rolex’s various involvement in different sporting fields, customers are free to relax and peruse watches in a homey, apartment-like environment. The boutique ends in a private room for those who require a little more discretion. Next to this is a bespoke stucco wall, with a design inspired by the patterns found on traditional songket fabric, which adds a touch of cultural flair that is unique to the local market.
