It’s hard to hate on a good view. And Singapore’s ultra-urban landscape offers one of Southeast Asia’s most sublime vantages when it comes to towering clusters of glass and concrete, dazzling city lights and man-made forestation. Better off yet, you’ll want to be indulging in a good meal or nice tipple whilst being encompassed by the surrounding splendour. Fasten your seatbelts as we show you the best destination restaurants and bars in Singapore that’s guaranteed to take you to dizzying heights.

1. SuperTree by Indochine

There are few experiences as magical as dining at the top of the iconic SuperTree. Looming 50 metres above Gardens by the Bay, SuperTree by Indochine arguably offers one of the best panoramic views in town. The restaurant and bar have such domineering heights that it leaves you spoilt for choice on where to look; on one side you’re faced with stunning views of the perfectly manicured Gardens, and on the other, the glittery Central Business District in all its glory. Take your pick between having some light tapas and cocktails on the rooftop alfresco bar, or a full dinner at the indoor restaurant one floor down. Both levels offer unblocked views of the surroundings.

Can’t decide what to eat? Me@OUE offers the perfect solution for fickle minded diners; here you can choose from a medley of innovative Japanese, French or Chinese cuisines, all while perched on the rooftop of OUE Bayfront building, located along Collyer Quay. The generous floor-to-ceiling windows bless diners with a great view of the financial district and the Marina Bay stretch from its 19th-storey height. This slick restaurant and rooftop bar is also a great spot for post-work drinks and light bites.

3. LeVel33

This handsome craft brewery offers Singapore’s answer to Park Hyatt Tokyo’s impressive views. Its penthouse altitude of, you guessed it, 33 floors, makes it the tallest microbrewery in the world. There are five classic brews served here: a stout, a wheat beer, an IPA, a blonde lager and a house porter. But do look out for their festive brews that can get quite exotic in flavour. Don’t come here expecting boring bar bites. In fact, Chef James Tegerdine’s culinary creations always promise to have just that little bit more edge. Think pan-seared kangaroo loin, salmon pastrami with flowers and yoghurt and smoked white chocolate. All in all, it’s a great place to get high.

4. Zafferano

While good Italian restaurants are a dime a dozen in Singapore, none of them do it quite like Zafferano. Elevated 43 storeys above ground, this fine-dining Italian establishment takes up a large chunk of aerial estate; offering a main dining area, a private room and an alfresco terrace that accommodates a whooping 246 seating capacity. Located within the Ocean Financial Centre and overlooking the Marina Bay skyline, it is a great spot to savour some post-work drinks on the alfresco deck before heading indoors for some of Chef Marco Guccio’s seasonal Italian creations.

5. Jaan

Jaan’s presence in the Singaporean dining scene is monumental. The one-Michelin star modern French restaurant also recently made the cut for Asia’s 50 best restaurants in 2017, cementing its position as one of the most important dining establishments in the country. The 40-seater restaurant is led by Chef Kirk Westaway, whose focus is on modern, innovative cuisine with an eye on seasonality. Located on the 70th floor of Swissotel The Stamford, the dining experience brings together exquisite food coupled with some of the best views of the Marina Bay skyline.

6. Ce La Vi

It’s a travesty not to visit Ce La Vi at least once when in Singapore. The boat-shaped restaurant, bar and nightclub balances delicately 57 storeys up on the iconic Marina Bay Sands building, making it one of the most distinguishable sights on the skyline. Indulge in the restaurant’s modern Asian cuisine or head over after hours when the party is in full force. Either way, you’ll be sure to be wowed by panoramic city views 200 metres up.

7. Salt Grill & Sky Bar

Experience the finest cuisine from Down Under high up in the sky. Located on the 55th and 56th floors of Ion Orchard, Salt Grill & Sky Bar showcases possibly the highest vantage point on Singapore’s famed Orchard Road stretch. Helmed by Celebrity Chef Luke Mangan, the establishment features lofty floor-to-ceiling windows that puts the city-line right beneath your window. Feast on culinary creations like oysters with nam jim and coconut dressing, as well as caviar blinis. You’ll also be nicely surprised by the little details provided in the restaurant; for example, the private, hidden lift that whisks you up from the fourth floor of the mall to Salt’s celestial heights.
