So powerful were the spirit and iconography of the Panthère when Cartier brought her to life in the form of spot motifs on a timepiece in 1914, that she has continued to intrigue, mesmerise, and inspire the Maison ever since. This year, she continues her conquest as a creative signature for Cartier, adding three novelties to the ever-growing Panthère de Cartier collection of jewellery, watches, fragrances, and accessories.
The new La Panthère creations take the shape of bracelets, encircling the wearer’s wrist with Cartier’s characteristic combination of creative and technical harmony, and the irresistible animal magnetism of the famously ferocious, independent feline. The La Panthère bracelets are priced between RM80,000 and RM428,000, starting with an 18-karat yellow gold bracelet decorated with tsavorite garnet eyes, black lacquer and onyx.
A little extra sparkle graces the 18-karat yellow gold bracelet set with 225 brilliant-cut diamonds, emerald eyes, and onyx markings, while its 18-karate white gold counterpart bears 6.66 carats of brilliant-cut diamonds – 571 in total, to be precise. Boldly elegant and unapologetically lavish, these La Panthère bracelets are yet another example of Cartier’s mastery of expression when it comes to celebrating femininity in its most liberated and sensual form.
