It is a tough time for Malaysia with the movement control order (MCO) in effect until the end the month. Fortunately for us in the Klang Valley our stalwart friends in the F&B scene are pressing on and taking creative liberties by attempting to bring a little happiness (and delicious gourmet food) into our homes with the introduction of takeaway menus and delivery options.
1. Proof Pizza + Wine
Delicious gourmet pizzas are just a call away at Proof Pizza + Wine, with two outlets in Bangsar and Mont Kiara. We recommend the decadent Umbrian black truffle pizza made with mixed mushrooms, mozzarella, taleggio, mascarpone and black truffle paste, which goes extraordinarily well with the right bottle of wine. Available for pick ups and via Grabfood from 1pm to 9:30pm.
2. Jing Ze Contemporary Asian Restaurant
Indulge in a melange of Asian flavours at home with Jing Ze’s “lockdown menu”, featuring crowd pleasers the likes of deep fried crispy pork belly with samba matah and loh mai kai wings bolstered with the flavours of fermented pork and sriracha. The restaurant will be available on Grabfood and takeaway from Tuesdays until Sundays from 12pm to 10pm.
3. Bistro à Table

Chef Isodara Chai is making the MCO a little bit more bearable with a 15 per cent discount on her restaurant – Bistro à Table – takeaway menu. The pièce de résistance is definitely the family roast care package menu, with options such as smoked Australian wagyu tomahawk, roasted garlic butter organic free range chicken, roasted New Zealand rack of lamb or baked whole seabass that come with the works.
4. Chocha Foodstore
Craving for local flavours with a twist? Chocha Foodstore continues to dish out tantalising eats available for delivery until the end of the month. For a hearty meal order the duck rending hummus served with chickpea eggplant mousse and turmeric leaf and crispy chilli squid with grilled lemon and nuom cham dressing with a side of bario rice.
5. Troika Sky Dining
Start with Fuego’s guacamole, move on to Mr Chew’s nori tacos and end with Strato’s seafood linguine with Troika Sky Dining’s takeaway menu. The enterprising folks behind the string of restaurants are offering pick ups and delivery options that will lighten up the mood at home during this trying period. Available from 10am to 10pm daily.
6. Joloko

Gourmet caribbean cuisine may not be commonplace here but it is certainly colourful. Restaurant-bar Joloko’s food acts as both a conversation starter and palate pleaser with dishes such as pulled jackfruit tamales, guava glazed prawn tostadas and eggplant ceviche. The restaurant’s takeaway menu is available daily for pick ups and delivery from 12pm to 6pm. For that extra spice, order the chilli cheesecake.
