Anantara Desaru Coast Residences Hosted A Special Family Weekend For Ferrari Owners

On 17 kilometers of pristine beachfront on peninsular Malaysia’s southern tip, one finds the Anantara Desaru Coast Residences. The coastal destination of Desaru Coast, once known for sleepy fishing villages, has recently garnered international attentions after a concerted transformation by Themed Attractions Resorts & Hotels, a subsidiary of Khazanah Nasional Berhad. The latter oversaw the establishment and co-development of touristic elements from four- and five-star resorts, its Adventure Waterpark, and the opening of a ferry terminal to offer direct connectivity to Changi International Airport and Indonesian islands such as Bintan and Batam. There is also the presence of world-class golfing with The Els Club’s two championship courses which saw its namesake Ernie Els and his friend Vijay Singh collaborate on the design of its Ocean and Valley courses, offering golfers a total of 45 holes across a dramatic landscape of streams, forests and ocean views.

A recent drive by members of the Ferrari Owners’ Club Malaysia (FOCM) to Desaru Coast offered them a chance to witness first-hand the unique beachfront development of Anantara Desaru Coast Residences, awarded the Best Luxury Landed Development and Best Landed Development in Malaysia by the Asia Property Awards (Malaysia). With contemporary architecture by Singapore-based Wow Architects and modish coastal interior design by EDC interiors, these 20 private pool villas (from 3,100 sq ft to 6,426 sq ft) are ideal for families who seek seaside living amid native foliage, five-star resort amenities and direct beach access.

Members of FOCM were hosted to the delicious Thai specialties at Turmeric restaurant in the adjacent Anantara Desaru Coast Resort before taking a tour of the beautiful residences. These three- and four-bedroom villas – start at RM7.6 million – were inspired by its stunning setting. According to project architect Christopher Lee, WOW Architects’ principal: “The sense of place is heightened through the use of natural materials that age gracefully, and design elements that reference indigenous architecture and craftsmanship.”

Here at the residences, FOCM members were treated to sweeping views of the South China Sea, as well as the fully furnished villas and its ‘green’ roofs which allow for local flora to thrive and integrate into the landscape over time. Open-plan layouts connect en-suite bedrooms with living and dining spaces, all the way to the infinity pool, sundeck and ocean breezes.

Among the many amenities which await owners and residents of Anantara Desaru Coast Residences are; a private beach, a lagoon pool, an ocean-fronting infinity pool, Anantara Spa, fitness centre, kids’ and teens’ clubs as well as Malaysian, Thai and international dining options. Owners and residents may also access on-demand services from the resort’s chefs, sommeliers, butlers and wellness practitioners, all within the discreet luxury of their own home.

Meanwhile, a year-round service and management programme by Anantara Desaru Coast Resort & Villas offers plenty of investment potential, under the aegis of its operating company Minor International’s decades-long experience in branded residential management.
