Chopard’s Red Carpet Collection Adorns The Cannes Film Festival And Paris Couture Week

This year’s Paris Couture Week shone the spotlight on Chopard’s highly anticipated showcase of its annual Red Carpet Collection. Every year since 1998, the maison’s haute joaillerie collection has graced the Cannes Film Festival, donned by celebrities on the red carpet. This time, the new collection is titled Contes de Fées and features 77 creations designed by Co-President and Artistic Director of Chopard, Caroline Scheufele, drawing inspiration from the enchanting world of fairytales. Whimsical creatures are brought to life, such as the 18-carat white gold ring fashioned in the form of an angel, set with brilliant-cut diamonds, spinels and striking watermelon tourmaline wings. Among other exquisite pieces, the dreamy essence of a true love’s kiss is symbolised in a diamond pavé heart pendant adorned with blue and pink sapphires, accompanied by a matching set of earrings.

The Penfolds Bin 707 2021 Vintage Is A Cabernet Sauvignon Exemplar

Grange is the most famous product from Penfolds, an emblem of collectability and exclusivity—but Bin 707 sits right up there next to it, an equally top-tier offering from the Australian winemaker. Where Grange is predominantly shiraz, Bin 707 is exclusively an expression of cabernet sauvignon. It is also produced in smaller quantities than Grange and has even missed out on a few vintages when the year’s harvest is not of sufficient quality. Its ‘707’ owes its inspiration to the Boeing 707, the premiere commercial airliner at the time of its creation in 1964—and indeed, Bin 707 was served in Qantas first class during the 1960s.

After skipping 2020, Bin 707 returned with the 2021 vintage. A classic presentation of the collection, it has a fresh and lively nose with all the darkly compelling, stone fruit fragrances one would expect of a cabernet sauvignon. On the palate, it is powerful and robust with layered tannins, tempered by a certain structure and precision. It is bottled at 14.5 per cent ABV.
