Plaza Premium Group Strengthens Their Leadership Team By Announcing Its Newest Appointments

Plaza Premium Group, an independent global airport hospitality service provider, is reinforcing its leadership team with the promotion of two key executives—Jonathan Song, previously global director of business development, has been appointed as chief commercial officer; while Mei Mei Song, former director of global brands and transformation, has been appointed as chief transformation officer. The new roles are effective immediately as the group continues to build on its 26 years of expertise.

The group was founded in Hong Kong, which has been serving more than 20 million travellers annually across 75 airports in 30 countries. Plaza Premium Group is known for its award-winning independent airport lounges, which has allowed the company to expand its offerings including dining outlets, terminal hotels and their Allways concierge services.

As the newly appointed chief commercial officer, Jonathan will lead the group’s global development of airport services, and plans to establish strategic partnerships and enhance the company’s loyalty program known as Smart Traveller. “Watching my parents build the business from zero was a formative experience that taught me invaluable lessons,” Jonathan said in a statement. “I am ready to bring fresh perspective and innovative ideas to elevate PPG to new heights.”

Mei Mei, stepping into the chief transformation officer role, aims to evolve the brand by spearheading transformation initiatives such as promoting customer satisfaction and sustainability strategies. “Growing up in this family business, airports were my playground. Now, as I fly frequently for the company, airports are my office, and I’ve witnessed the tremendous transformation in the travel industry,” she said in a statement. She also highlights her focus in her new role to create memorable experiences that reflect local culture while adapting to industry trends.

The newly elected executives mark a new era for Plaza Premium Group. The company is primed to boost its offerings and expand its global development in airport hospitality services. Song Hoi See, founder and CEO of the group said: “I’m immensely proud that both my children have been actively involved in growing PPG. This is the right time to build up our leadership structure and place more responsibility into the hands of the next generation”.
