Rimowa And Vitra Release New Aluminium Essentials

Set to launch on 18 June, Rimowa and Vitra introduce Rimowa Vitra 2025, a design collaboration featuring two limited edition pieces: the Aluminium Stool and the Aluminium Toolbox. The collaboration reflects both brands’ shared philosophies, spotlighting aluminium craftsmanship, mobility, and multifunctional design. The Aluminium Stool is a mobile seating cube crafted from Rimowa’s signature grooved aluminium and equipped with the brand’s Multiwheel system. It opens to reveal upholstered storage, a removable leather divider, and a cushioned lid for added comfort. Limited to 1,000 pieces, it comes in silver ice blue, silver papyrus, and silver emerald. The stool will be available in select Rimowa flagship stores from 19 June 2025.

Meanwhile, the Aluminium Toolbox, inspired by industrial designer Arik Levy’s original Vitra toolbox, is reimagined in anodised aluminium interiors lined in recycled fabric. Limited to 100 pieces, it will be available exclusively in Europe via Rimowa’s official website, and globally via Vitra’s official website. Complementing the collection are custom sticker sets, featuring design motifs from both brands. A commemorative installation will also be showcased at the Vitra Fire Station by Zaha Hadid in Weil am Rhein, Germany, which will be open to the public till 27 June 2025.

Rado’s Captain Cook Chronograph Gets A Ceramic Upgrade

The latest version of Rado’s Captain Cook chronograph sees ceramic as a case material for the first time. Lightweight and scratch-resistant, it lends the watch an air of industrial sophistication—slightly more casual than metal, and yet dresses up well, making for a versatile timepiece. Equipped with a rotating bezel, 43mm diameter, and 300m water resistance rating, it is nonetheless a sporty and durable watch—as befits the Captain Cook collection. The Captain Cook High-Tech Ceramic Chronograph is presented in two markedly different executions—black ceramic and black dial with rose gold-coloured highlights (RM28,700), and one with a green dial with rhodium highlights and plasma ceramic case (RM28,450).
